AVT introduces new inspection & control and inline colour measurement solutions

AVT, introduced an extensive roster of new solutions at drupa. With more than 15 systems across its partners’ stands, AVT entered the show as the world’s top automatic inspection and quality management solutions provider in the global labeling and packaging industries.

At the show, the company introduced the Helios D digital press inspection, an automatic, 100 per cent print inspection solution designed to meet the specific needs of digital printing in the labels and narrow web markets. Based on the Helios product line, Helios D supports all stages of digital production workflow, including the identification of specific defects like missing nozzles, ink dripping spots, and colour changes as soon as they occur. The result is reduced waste, enhanced production and comprehensive process monitoring.

During drupa AVT also presented four 100 per cent inspection systems on HP Indigo presses. These included the debut of Apollo 30K, which was designed for the HP Indigo 30000 Folding Carton press, the Helios S Turbo on the new HP 8000 narrow web press and Apollo 20K for the HP Indigo 20000 flexible packaging press.

AVT also showcased its new Jet-IQ, said to be the only proven closed loop solution for digital inkjet presses. Installed on digital presses from Heidelberg, Landa and other prominent vendors, Jet-IQ is a quality engine that works in synergy with press controllers to maintain exemplary print quality.

Wide web packaging inspection solutions

Among the portfolio of AVT systems presented at drupa was the new Argus Turbo 100 per cent Inspection platform for packaging applications that incorporates a new Offline setup feature, allowing Argus customers to centrally create job quality standards and quickly set up their systems according to these parameters.

High-definition inspection

drupa also saw the premiere of AVT’s Turbo HD series, offering, for the first time, high definition resolution inspection along and across the web at full press and rewinder speeds. Also showcased was the new 100 per cent inspection Turbo HD wide web technology, which introduces capabilities to support HD quality at very high speeds along and across very wide webs.

Proven inline colour measurement solutions

AVT introduced its SpectraLab II, a new generation of in-line spectral measurement for nearly any application, including transparent flexible, paper, cartons. SpectraLab II offers new compact design, advanced colour workflow management and improved inline-to-offline measurement correlation.

Cloud-based workflow and automation platform

A big premiere was AVT’s new iCenter Platform, a next-generation cloud-based solution for quality control automation and production performance insights. Printers can now offer brand owners around the globe consistent product quality, as well as production reports showcasing these heightened quality standards.

Alliance with Erhardt+Leimer

The partnership between AVT and E+L combines the two companies’ technologies to offer a comprehensive array of end-to-end solutions for packaging and label converters, from measurement and viewing to inspection and quality control solutions.

At drupa, the companies presented SMARTSCAN – a new joint solution for print gross defect detection. SMARTSCAN was presented with live demonstrations at both companies’ stands.
