Leading lid manufacturer, Clondalkin Flexible Packaging Bury (formerly Chadwicks Lids), has produced the polyester lids for a brand new range of single serving Weetabix products.

The three new products – Weetabix Crispy Minis Chocolate Chip, Weetabix Crispy Minis Banana and Weetos pots – were launched in February 2015. This is the first time Clondalkin has produced lids for Weetabix branded products and the first time these products have been sold in this convenient, breakfast pot format.

The 95.5mm diameter omnipet polyester lids feature bold, five colour designs, with pin dot embossing for extra impact on-shelf. The initial print run was 50,000 units of each of the three products.

Mark Tyrrell, packaging control manager for Weetabix, commented: “We introduced these new breakfast pots to appeal to consumers looking for a quick and nutritious breakfast they can eat anywhere. The on-the-go breakfast market is growing as more and more people eat their breakfast out of the home and this represents a big opportunity for retailers.

“We are delighted with both the design and quality of the products. The lids are eye-catching and robust and the service we received from Clondalkin Flexible Packaging Bury has been excellent.”

Vicki Slater, sales administrator, at Clondalkin Flexible Packaging Bury, added: “We are very pleased with these fun, bold designs for Weetabix which will have real shelf appeal. We are a global market leader in the production of heat seal pre-cut lids for many favourite consumer brands and it was great to work on a new concept for such well-loved brands from Weetabix.

Clondalkin Group Flexible Packaging Bury, based in Greater Manchester, has more than 50 years’ experience as one of the UK’s leading manufacturer of pre-cut lids and shrink sleeves to market sectors including food, dairy and beverage markets.
