Corrugated box making equipment with fast set-up

Quick-set corrugated box making equipment manufacturer Autobox Machinery of Leighton Buzzard, UK has reported record sales in 2011 with turnover up some 50% on 2010. Growth has been achieved both in the UK and export markets with export sales now accounting for over 70% of turnover

During 2011 machines have been shipped to more than 20 countries with customers ranging from small to large volume box plants as well as end users making their own boxes in house. The introduction of new machines specifically the HiPak and HiCut Quick Set box maker coupled with a proactive sales drive, have contributed to growth and record sales. Two years of intensive R&D has seen the Autobox range completely updated with machines now capable of running over 100 different FEFCO box styles all with typical 60 second, toolless make ready times. The recently launched HiFlex range of single and two colour flexo printers, servo driven for quick set up and accurate print registration have further enhanced the Autobox range.

“We have been working hard to change the perception of Autobox machines being suitable only for very short runs,” explains managing director Barry Tabor. “Box plants are replacing older converting equipment with our machines and using them for medium to longer run orders. They report that our Quick Set technology has definite productivity benefits.

“We enter 2012 with a healthy forward order book and will continue our sales drive into new export markets.”
