RK PrintCoat Instruments, based in the UK, design and manufacture pilot printing and coating technology and colour communication devices. These systems can be used for quality control purposes, for determining processor product feasibility as well as commercial viability and for the small-scale production of complex materials and products.
Following the company’s installation of an RK Print VCM, André Goos, global technical application manager, DSM Resins & Coatings, said: “RK Print Coat Instruments offered great flexibility for the custom made design of our new coating machine. We are very delighted to have the new VCM pilot coating line commissioned. This very versatile coating machine combines inline priming with top coating as well as flexo printing and gravure printing with water based, solvent based and UV curable inks. The new VCM pilot coater replaces our 35 year old RK Rotary Coater, having an impressive track record of seamless service during more than 20,000 coating runs using more than 250 rolls of film and coating more than 1,000km of film. We are very confident that this new pilot coater will significantly contribute to the growth of our business in the printing and packaging market.”
