Harkwell Labels, the custom label printer based in Poole, Dorset, has just taken a delivery of ABG’s newly launched screen unit. Using this new technology, they’ll be able to offer high build embellishments legally required on many products in the vaping, pharmaceutical, agriculture, and automotive markets, amongst many others. Harkwell have an existing market for this and the new screen module will help them offer a more cost-effective solution.

Tim Harkwell, managing director, Harkwell, said, “As labelling regulations become ever more stringent we feel this investment from ABG, a forward-thinking company, will allow us competitive advantage by offering rotary screen prices with minimal set up fees using flat screens.

“In addition, we’ll be able to offer ‘jump off the shelf’ embellishments in silk screen attracting the beverage, cosmetics and other high value product markets,” Tim added.

“We will also be able to produce vibrant high impact colours that neither digital or flexo are able to achieve.”

Launched at Labelexpo by ABG, what used to be the slowest module on a finishing machine has now doubled its speed and offers numerous benefits to operators.

“We had a fantastic response at Labelexpo and since then have received multiple enquiries and orders for the module,” said Tony Bell, ABG’s sales director.

“With a larger print and repeat area, increased speed and improved UV curing ensuring consistency along the whole web, we are confident this is the best solution for screen in the finishing market,” Bell concluded.
