Labels produced on Nilpeter’s CASLON win award
International Label & Printing Co based in Illinois, USA received four awards for Outstanding Achievement in Digital Printing in the Great Lakes Graphics Association’s 2013 Graphics Excellence Awards.
The labels were printed on a Nilpeter FA-3 combination UV-Flexo/CASLON UV-inkjet digital press.
The four awards won by International Label were given in the categories Best in Category and Awards of Excellence. The judging criteria included registration, crossovers, clarity and neatness, sharpness of halftones and line drawings, richness and tonal qualities of colour, paper and ink selection, ink coverage, difficulty of printing, effective contrast or softness, finishing, bindery and overall visual impact.

Features include a new inkjet-based, digital spot colour unit that prints UV-curable ink on a wide range of substrates. This not only enhances the printing capabilities significantly but completely eliminates conventional prepress procedures, speeds up production times and minimises costs through improved job control. The CASLON’s modular design fits into Nilpeter’s flexographic FA-Line of presses.
