Leading Thai converter Dai-Ichi invests in Flexo Wash Parts Washer

Dai-Ichi Packaging, the Thai-owned converter with two 8-colour Windmöller & Hölscher Heliostar presses installed, and a third arriving soon, generates an annual turnover of more than 2 billion Baht per year, making it one of the top five converters in Thailand. The company says its 520 employees are dedicated to ensuring that Dai-Ichi can focus on and meet the needs of its customers

“We are known for our high-quality products, excellent customer service, good flexibility and fast delivery times. We produce for both local customers and large global players, taking on short and long run work for our customers, and ensuring that if they need a job quickly, we can deliver it. Our customers need a reliable supplier with short lead times, and we have many who have been loyal to us for years,” explained managing director Sirawit Paneangveat, adding “Everything you can produce on a gravure press, we can do.” Dai-Ichi can print on any type of film for food packaging and also produce labels.

“Even though labour prices are low we still decided to invest in an ATEX Parts Washer from Flexo Wash. For us, the work environment and health of our employees are of the highest importance. We don’t want our workers to be cleaning manually with solvents, because of its adverse effect on their health. We have already noticed that our employees work longer and enjoy better health since the machine was installed,” he said. Another great benefit of having a machine to clean parts is the shorter standing and set up times on the presses, which are costly. “Our parts are now cleaned faster than if they were done manually, which means we have more time to print and make money,” he said.

The company was keen to invest in European quality because it keeps it up to date with the newest technology. Before investing, the company carried out detailed research in the market. “Flexo Wash was recommended by leading press manufacturers, and we had also seen their technology at exhibitions. But, the fact that we could see a machine running at a company in Vietnam was even more important to us. When you see a machine in commercial operation and speak to the operators, you find out how well it really works. Afterwards, we were sure Flexo Wash was the right way to go,” said Mr Paneangveat. “The machine is very user friendly and its performance and reliability, and the service and fast response from Flexo Wash all meet our expectations,” he concluded.

The ATEX Parts Washer installed is made with toluene-resistant pumps and sealings so Dai-Ichi can clean with the solvents they were using already. Speaking for Flexo Wash, International sales manager Mette Laursen, commented: “ Flexo Wash is very proud to have been chosen to supply a machine to a well-known company like Dai-Ichi. The ATEX parts washer installed was the first to be supplied in Thailand.”
