Plasfilms expands to reflect strong sales

PlasfilmsFilms and distribution business, Plasfilms, is expanding its business to reflect continuing growth – the company saw an unprecedented 40 per cent hike in sales in 2015.

Along with internal restructuring, Plasfilms has bolstered its technical sales team due to an increase in orders and to capitalise on new market opportunities such as rigid films. The recent addition of APET and rPET film for supply to the UK and Irish markets for thermoforming applications, sees Plasfilms’ expanding portfolio of packaging films to include BOPP, PET, CPP, heat shrink films, rigid films, PVC and SANZIP re-closable zippers.

Plasfilms’ Alan Moules said: “Rigid films are the fastest growing sector of the packaging market. Due to changes in consumer preferences, convenience products and ready-made meals are becoming ever more popular, and consequently, the demand for APET films increases – this in turn means that reduced customer lead times are always adding pressure to the supply chain. At Plasfilms, our true distribution model can ease this pressure with deliveries direct from UK held stock.”

Plasfilms’ distribution covers the entire value chain with an advanced logistics model encompassing procurement, storage and delivery. And with direct access to UK stock, the company provides a complete solution that is bespoke to individual customer requirements and is able to meet just-in-time demands. Plasfilms’ service is further enhanced by their temperature controlled warehousing facilities.
