Plasma4 promises much
ENERCON HAS developed what it believes is a ‘breakthrough’ surface treating technology for a wide array of applications.
Enercon’s Atmospheric Plasma Technology director, Rory Wolf is campaigning within the industry to explain Synergistic Plasma Technique for achieving what he describes as ‘remarkable surface adhesion’.
The essence of Enercon’s development is a new atmospheric plasma process called Plasma Synergy, which is claimed to be a highly stable surface energy that produces significant step changes in peel adhesion strength. Enercon believes that it has evidence that proves conclusively that this process outperforms any existing single step treatment process.
Enercon has been exhibiting and demonstrating its new Plasma4 atmospheric plasma surface treater, frequently using Teflon as an example, notorious for its difficulty to treat. However the best features of Enercon’s fourth generation of production class technology are said to be its operating benefits. Plasma4 is claimed to offer the industry’s lowest gas consumption, eliminates electrode breakage and automatically adjusts treatment air gap, says Wolf.
New Air Treat
Enercon is promoting a treatment solution for pattern treating called Air Treat. This is claimed to solve many problems for film extruders. Operators can now set treater electrode segments from the operator interface and receive on screen feedback on current segment position. This eliminates the process of manually actuating segmented electrodes on treaters, so often located in difficult to reach places.
With Air Treat there’s no second guessing whether the operator has correctly positioned the segments for the next job. Jobs will be run correct the first time with the treatment pattern specified and confirmed on the operator panel reducing waste and increasing productivity.
Air Treat is available as an option with Enercon’s CSO corona treater, which features stainless steel electrodes; several roll covering options and high performance power generation from Enercon’s Compak power supply models.
