Solutions for enhanced print quality
For some time the flexible packaging market has been demanding improved solutions to enhance print quality and waste management while addressing the costs involved in the converting process and its environmental impact. Comexi Group is offering a new solution based on offset technology that can “shake up the current paradigm of flexible packaging printing.”
The C18 offset press is based on six offset printing units and two flexo printing units positioned around a central impression drum (CI) with EB (electron beam) offset inks and Flexo EB for coatings and backgrounds. It is aimed at the flexible packaging market – plastic films (light gauge material including PE, BOPP and PET).
The machine will provide customers, with several key advantages: lower costs per square meter; decreased ecological impact thanks to the solvent-free EB offset inks; high quality (fading screens/fine screens/micro text); higher energy efficiency and the highest capacity of producing offset plates in-house within minutes. The Comexi Offset concept is primarily focused on the flexible packaging and label markets, specifically:
• Flexible packaging with increasing product fragmentation which leads to short and medium runs. For those looking for high quality, cost effective solutions with a low impact on the environment.
• Label printing for shrink sleeve, wrap around label and IML on plastic; high quality printing labels.
