WMW acquires two self-adhesive label businesses

W & M Watson Packaging Ltd (WMW), one of Scotland’s leaders in the packaging market has acquired two prominent self-adhesive label companies based in central Scotland; Lothian Labels Limited (LLL) a long established label manufacturer and Complete Labelling Limited (CLL) a well known label merchant. In addition, LLL and CLL manufacture and distribute stock/bespoke labelling and sell and lease industry quality labelling equipment.

The investment of approximately £300,000 will add yet more value to WMW’s extensive catalogue of packaging products ranging from new and once-used corrugated boxes, poly products, polythene bags as well as a comprehensive assortment of packing supplies by bringing a completely new line of products and services to the table. The move to bring LLL and CLL into the group is part of WMW’s business plan for expansion in its current offerings by diversifying its portfolio with an aim to increase its market share while offering its customer base a ‘one-stop-shop’ experience partnered with unrivalled market prices.

Newly appointed general manager of Lothian Labels Kate Smith will be working hand in hand with John Barrie and the CLL team, bringing a wealth of much needed expertise to the rapidly expanding group.

‘This is our second and third acquisition to be completed within a month,’ says Chris Kelly, managing director, W&M Watson Packaging Ltd.  “It’s certainly been a hectic time for WMW in the acquisition market as we continue to execute our bold strategy of further consolidation in the Scottish packaging market; stay tuned, we most certainly are not done yet.”
